A manufacturing route for isothioate is not available in open literature. Its structure, however, places it firmly within the organophosphate insecticides, allowing its production to be inferred from established industrial organophosphate chemistry. Commercial manufacture would centre on assembling the phosphorothioate core, typically by reacting a phosphorus thiohalide intermediate with the appropriate alcohol and amine components under strictly anhydrous, temperature controlled conditions to manage the high reactivity of its chemical bonds. Subsequent steps would introduce the isothioate specific alkyl and aryl substituents through nucleophilic substitution or esterification, followed by purification, usually via controlled distillation or crystallisation, to yield technical grade active ingredient for formulation. | [Mechanism of action]
