Hazard Information | Back Directory | [Uses]
1-(5-Amino-2-hydroxyphenyl)ethanone is used in the preparation of alkylated flavonoid compounds for use as therapeutic antioxidants. It is also used to synthesize spiro[chromanone-piperidine]s as acetyl-CoA carboxylase inhibitors. | [Preparation]
Also obtained by refluxing a suspension of N-(3-acetyl-4- hydroxyphenyl)acetamide in 15% hydrochloric acid for 40 min (84%). | [Synthesis]
The hydrolysis reaction was carried out by refluxing 2-hydroxy-5-acetamidoacetophenone in 2N hydrochloric acid solution for 6 hours to obtain 5-amino-2-hydroxyacetophenone in 94% yield. | [References]
