Example 239A Synthesis of 7-bromo-2-methylquinazoline: 4-bromo-2-fluorobenzaldehyde (1 g, 4.9 mmol), acetamidine, and N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMA) were mixed, heated to 140°C, and reacted for 5 hours. After completion of the reaction, the mixture was cooled to room temperature and dried under vacuum. The crude product was purified by fast column chromatography to give 47 mg of the target compound in 4% yield. The mass spectrum (ESI) m/e 223 (M + 1)+. | [References]
