ChEBI: Quinacetol sulfate is a polymer. | [Production Methods]
Quinacetol sulphate was manufactured through a straightforward salt formation step built on the prior synthesis of quinacetol. Commercial producers first generated the quinolinium base by quaternising quinoline with ethylene oxide or ethylene chlorohydrin under controlled conditions, then converting the resulting hydroxyethyl quinolinium intermediate into the acetate (quinacetol). To obtain the marketed sulphate, manufacturers neutralised or metathesised the acetate salt with sulphuric acid, producing the stable crystalline bis sulphate form used in agricultural formulations. | [Mechanism of action]
Quinoline fungicides tend to act by disrupting fungal metabolism, often targeting nucleic acid biosynthesis or cell membrane integrity | [Pesticide Type]
