Hazard Information | Back Directory | [Chemical Properties]
Naphthalene-1,7-disulfonic acid [5724- 16-3]. C10H8O6S2, Mr 288.28, is produced by sulfonation of naphthalene-2-sulfonic acid with cold oleum to give a mixture of 1,6- (80 %) and 1,7- (20 %) acids. Although these are difficult to separate, the corresponding disulfonyl chlorides are separable because of their differing solubilities in, for example, benzene. | [Uses]
1,7-Naphthalenedisulfonic Acid is an environmental pollutant. |
