[Synthesis]
The general procedure for the synthesis of cyclobutyl(phenyl)methanamine hydrochloride from the compound (CAS: 6668-40-2) was as follows: intermediate 17 (6.18 g, 35 mmol) was dissolved in anhydrous ethanol (100 mL) and 10% palladium carbon catalyst (0.47 g) was added. The reaction mixture was subjected to hydrogenation for 3 hours at room temperature and under atmospheric pressure. Upon completion of the reaction, the catalyst was removed by filtration and an ether solution of 1 M HCl (35 mL) was added to the filtrate. Subsequently, the reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure to afford the target product cyclobutyl(phenyl)methylamine hydrochloride as a white solid (6.7 g, 96% yield). The product was characterized by 1H NMR (400 MHz, MeOH-d4): δ 1.70-2.05 (5H, m), 2.20-2.27 (1H, m), 2.85-2.93 (1H, m), 4.20 (1H, d, J = 10 Hz), 7.37-7.46 (5H, m). |
