[Uses] ω-aminohexyl–agarose has been used for coupling of serotype b-specific carbohydrate antigen (SbAg) of Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans Y4 for isolation of anti-SbAg antibodies using protein chromatography.
[Biochem/physiol Actions] ω-aminoalkyl-agaroses are used in chromatography. In these, the protein is retained by lipophilic association between the hydrocarbon side chains on the agarose and hydrophobic pockets in the protein.
