GENERAL STEPS: In a typical experiment, a mixture of 2,6-dinitroaniline (2 mmol), NaBH4 (6 mmol), Fe3O4/Ala-AA-Ni (0.03 g), and water (3 mL) was added to a round bottom flask. The suspension was stirred at room temperature and the reaction process was monitored by thin layer chromatography (TLC). After completion of the reaction, the residue was extracted with ether. The organic layer was dried with Na2SO4 and the solvent was subsequently removed under reduced pressure. Pure benzene-1,2,3-triamine was isolated by silica gel column chromatography using hexane/ethyl acetate as eluent. The structure of the product was confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and FT-IR spectroscopic techniques. | [References]
