Temocillin Disodium inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesiswhich is necessary for the growth and survival of bacterial cells. Specificallyit interferes with the synthesis of peptidoglycanthe major component of the bacterial cell wall by binding to a specific target on the cell wall synthesis enzyme called penicillin-binding protein 3 (PBP3). This blocks the synthesis of peptidoglycanleading to the weakening and eventual lysis of the bacterial cell. | [in vivo]
