枸橘苷具有优先的抑制血管内皮细胞增殖的作用，在较低的非凋亡剂量，能够抑制 HUVEC的迁移、粘附作用，这一差异细胞毒性及能干扰内皮细胞功能的特性，符合现代医药抗血管生成药物筛选的标准。枸橘苷抑制血管生成的作用在鸡胚绒毛尿囊膜实验中进一步得到验证，实验结果显示化合物对 CAM 血管生成具有良好的抑制作用。初步的机制研究发现枸橘苷能够抑制肿瘤细胞 VEGF mＲNA 表达，鉴于VEGF 是肿瘤血管形成的关键因子，这一结果说明枸橘苷可能通过影响 VEGF表达实现其抗肿瘤与抑制血管生成的作用。
