3-Methyl-2-butanone (1 mmol), Al2O3 (1 mmol), sulfur powder (1.5 mmol), ethyl cyanoacetate (1.5 mmol) and morpholine (1.5 mmol) were added to the reaction vial. The sealed reaction vial was placed in a microwave reactor and reacted at 120 °C for 15 min. After completion of the reaction, the dark brown reaction mixture was purified by fast column chromatography to afford the target compound ethyl 2-amino-4-isopropylthiophene-3-carboxylate. | [References]
