Methyl 4-amino-2-fluorobenzoate is mainly used as an intermediate in organic synthesis, especially in the field of pharmaceutical manufacturing. | [Synthesis]
Step 2: Methyl 2-fluoro-4-nitrobenzoate (1.05 g, 5.273 mmol) was dissolved in methanol (MeOH). Palladium/carbon (Pd/C, 105 mg) was added to the resulting solution. The reaction mixture was stirred for 2 hours at room temperature in a hydrogen (H2) atmosphere. Upon completion of the reaction, the mixture was filtered through a diatomaceous earth pad to remove the catalyst. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to give the crude product. The crude product was purified by column chromatography to give the final pure methyl 4-amino-2-fluorobenzoate (870 mg, 98% yield). | [References]
