TCA-ammonium was produced by first making technical trichloroacetic acid through the standard industrial chlorination–oxidation of acetic acid or acetaldehyde, then neutralising the purified acid with an ammonium source, typically ammonium hydroxide or ammonium carbonate, in a controlled aqueous medium. Careful pH control ensured complete conversion to ammonium trichloroacetate without excessive dilution or decomposition. The resulting salt solution was concentrated and crystallised. | [Mechanism of action]
Selective, systemic, absorbed by roots and translocated. Inhibition of lipid synthesis | [Pesticide Type]
