| Questions And Answer | Back Directory | [Preparation]
CHROMIUM(III) PHOSPHATE is produced by the reaction of phosphoric acid with chromic anhydride (CrO3). By adding reducing agents such as formaldehyde and hydrogen peroxide, CrO3 is reduced to Cr2O3, which then combines with phosphoric acid during heating to form amorphous P2O5-Cr2O3. This inorganic polymer backbone has high strength and elastic modulus, but its applications are relatively limited due to the toxicity of Cr6+. |
