3-(1-benzylpiperidin-4-yl)-3,4-dihydro-1H-quinazolin-2-one (1.2 g, 3.7 mmol) was used as starting material, which was dissolved in 30 mL of methanol and pre-gassed with nitrogen. Subsequently, 120 mg of palladium carbon (10 wt%) catalyst was added to the solution. The reaction mixture was placed under hydrogen atmosphere and stirred at room temperature for 48 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the catalyst was removed by diatomaceous earth filtration and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to afford 0.9 g (100% yield) of the white solid product 3-piperidin-4-yl-3,4-dihydro-1H-quinazolin-2-one. | [References]
