General procedure for the synthesis of 1-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxamide from ethyl 1-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylate: ammonium hydroxide (20 mL) was added to a solution of ethyl 1-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylate (0.52 g, 3.4 mmol) in ethanol (10 mL), and the reaction mixture was stirred for 16 hours at 80 °C. Upon completion of the reaction, the solvent was removed by concentration under reduced pressure to afford 1-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxamide (0.61 g, yield: quantitative) as a colorless oily product.
