Cellulose diacetate is soluble in acetone and can be formed into fibers or films.It is biodegradable and hydrophilic.

Water treatment for organic and heavy metal pollutants, biomedical devices, biodegradable packaging, textile finishing for water permeable fabrics, cosmetics
[Application]

Cellulose diacetate has been used to make fabrics, membranes, filaments, and many consumer products. It has also been used in seed coating applications.In photography, a film substrate made from cellulose diacetate is called safety film.
[Production Methods]

Cellulose diacetate could be produced with bamboo fibers as a raw material having the steps of soaking, treating with ultrasonic sound, de-acidifying, acetylating, hydrolyzing, precipitating, screening, extruding, washing, rolling, and drying.
