Naloxone methiodide has been used as inhibitor of opioid receptor in fish and mice. Naloxone methiodide has been used to block opioid neurotransmission.
[Biochem/physiol Actions]

Naloxone methiodide has low affinity for opioid receptors than naloxone. Administration of naloxone inhibits opioid receptor and opioid-induced respiratory depression.

Naloxone‐methiodide (10 mg/mL; 200 μL; i.p.), induces abdominal hypersensitivity in IL-10?/? mice with colitis[2].

Animal Model:Ten- to twelve-week-old IL-10 gene-deficient male (IL-10?/?) mice on C57BL/6 genetic background[2]
Dosage:10 mg/mL; 200 μL
Administration:Intraperitoneally
Result:In piroxicam-treated IL-10?/? mice induced abdominal pain.
