Beschreibung

Veratrum lobelianum yields this steroidal alkaloid, the structure of which has been elucidated from the infrared, ultraviolet, NMR and mass spectra. Hydrolysis of the base in aqueous MeOH with potassium carbonate at room temperature gives veralodisinol, together with acetic acid.
