Biological Activity
Laminin subunit β-1 is a protein encoded by the LAMB1 gene in humans. It is also referred as CLM and LIS5. It encodes the β1 chain of laminin-8, in glioma cells lines. Up-regulation of this gene is highly correlated with the down-regulation of miR-124-5p and its protein expression is suppressed by miR-124-5p. It may play a role in the development of epileptic seizures in patients with intractable epilepsy.
