D-Ribose-L-cysteine is a prodrug of L-cysteine that has potential therapeutic advantage in the inhibition of astrocytoma cell proliferation (1,2). D-Ribose-L-cysteine has been shown to protect against acetaminophen-induced hepatic and renal toxicity.
