Description
(R)-N-(tert-Butyl)diMethylsilyl-S-difluoroMethyl-S-phenylsulfoxiMine is a novel chiral difluoromethylation reagent towards electrophiles such as aldehydes and ketones. Reductive desulfonimidoylation of the addition products with magnesium can afford difluoromethyl alcohols with high enantiopurity. This reagent is useful for the synthesis of enantioenriched difluoromethyl alcohols, especially the tertiary alcohols.
