+ channel-1 (TREK1), is expressed in the spinal cord, bladder and dorsal root ganglion. It is part of the TREK family.

Potassium two pore domain channel subfamily K member 2 (KCNK2) possesses a potassium channel activity. It has a role in stabilizing the resting membrane potential of cells. The protein is also involved in the development of rat heart. TREK-1 could act as a drug target to treat acute heart ischemia.
