일반 설명
Cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (CDK5), belongs to the cyclin-dependent kinase family. It is most active in the central nervous system and plays an important role in the regulation of cytoskeletal function. CDK5 expression has been observed in testis, kidney, and ovary with higher levels seen in postmitotic neurons in developing and adult nervous systems. Mutations in CDK5 have been associated with Alzheimer′s disease, Parkinson′s disease, and ALS, suggesting that CDK5 may play a key role in several neurodegenerative disorders.
