L-Leucyl-L-phenylalaninamide is an intermediate in the synthesis of γ-Secretase Inhibitor, the enzyme complex that catalyzes the cleavage of the amyloid precursor protein (APP) to generate amyloid β-peptide (Aβ), the major causative agent in Alzheimer disease (AD).
