Use

Lactoferrin is a multifunctional transferrin protein (ie responsible for regulating plasma iron concentration). This glycoprotein is found in milk, colostrum (where it is its highest concentration, it gives the infant bacterial immunity), tears, saliva, nasal mucus secretion, airway mucus secretions, gastrointestinal mucus secretions, mucus secretions, semen, cerebrospinal fluid, bile, urine, feces, sweat and earwax. It also occurs as a dietary supplement available on the market.
