Use

Oxyresveratrol, a main compound in heartwood of Artocarpus lakoocha Roxb as well as other medicinal plants, has been shown to possess the antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory activities previously, without any study in periodontal research. In this study, we investigated whether oxyresveratrol has antibacterial activity against Porphyromonas gingivalis and Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, the predominant perio-pathogenic bacteria. Moreover, the anti-inflammatory of oxyresveratrol will be studied in LPS-stimulated human periodontal ligament (HPDL) cells.
