  • As an intermediate in the total synthesis of macrolide derivative laingolide B stereoisomers.
  • As a substrate in the synthesis of (3R)-1-benzyl-3-methylpyrrolidine-2,5-dione (aliphatic carboxamide) using NiII-pincer complexes.
