Cytidine 5γ-triphosphate (CTP) is used to synthesize RNA by various RNA polymerases. Cytidine 5γ-triphosphate (CTP) is a substrate for CMP-neuNAc synthetase(s) which produce CMP-neuNAc used in sialylation reactions.
