Description
PDDHV is a resiniferatoxin (RTX)-type phorboid vanilloid with capsaicin-like selectivity for VR1, shown to evoke Ca2+ uptake in rat dorsal root ganglion neurons with an EC50 = 70nM, while inhibiting RTX binding to said neurons with a much lower potency (Ki > 10,000 nM). The ability of PDDHV to elicit Ca2+ uptake at sub-micromolar concentrations, while having a much lower binding affinity to rat dorsal root ganglion membranes, represents more than 100 times capsaicin-like pharmacology.
