Uses	(1R)-(-)-2-Azabicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-en-3-one can be used as a precursor to prepare: Amino-peramivir, a potent neuraminidase inhibitor. Five membered analogs of 4-amino-5-halopentanoic acids as potential GABA aminotransferase (GABA-AT) inactivators.
Uses	((1R,4S)-2-Azabicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-en-3-one is an abacavir intermediate. It is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of carbocyclic sugar amines, carbanucleosides, and carbocyclic dinucleotide analogues.
General Description	(1R)-(-)-2-Azabicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-en-3-one is a bicyclic γ-lactam.
