| Aniline Blue Usage And Synthesis |
Chemical Properties | Aniline Blue is a dark brownish-purple crystalline powder. It is soluble and used as a biological stain in fluorescent microscopy, appearing yellow-green after excitation with violet light.
 | Uses | Aniline Blue is a biological stain used for staining collagen and as a fluorescent stain for glycogen. It can also be used to stain collagen fibers in tissue sections using Masson's trichrome protocol for staining multiple components. In this method, collagen stains blue. | Preparation | C.I. Solvent Blue 3 (C.I. 42775) with strong sulfuric acid three stlfonation, and translated into sodium salt. | Definition | ChEBI: Aniline Blue is an organic sodium salt resulting from the formal condensation of NSC 56820 with 2 mol eq. of sodium hydroxide. It is used as a histological stain for collagen and in Mallory's method for connective tissue. | Staining Procedures | Aqueous solution, 0.5-1.0%, alternatively dissolved in ethanol, glycerol or lactoglycerol. Glucans are positive. | Properties and Applications | blue. Soluble in cold water and hot water (blue), slightly soluble in alcohol. Meet strong sulfuric acid as red light yellow, diluted into blue, and produce blue precipitation. Its water solution and sodium hydroxide is palm red light. For wool, silk, cotton, paper, leather dyeing. Used for plastic ones coloring of casein, also used in the manufacture of ink. The salt can be used as organic pigments used in rubber color. |
