| Chemical Properties | Aniline Blue is a dark brownish-purple crystalline powder. It is soluble and used as a biological stain in fluorescent microscopy, appearing yellow-green after excitation with violet light.

It can also be used to stain collagen fibers in tissue sections using Masson's trichrome protocol for staining multiple components. In this method, collagen stains blue. | | Preparation | C.I.
