Safety ProfilePoison by ingestion, intraperitoneal, intravenous, subcutaneous, and intramuscular routes. Moderately toxic by parented route. Human systemic effects by intradermal route: local anesthetic. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of HCl and NOx. See also EPHEDRINE.
