Safety ProfilePoison by intravenous routes. Moderately toxic by ingestion and subcutaneous routes. Experimental reproductive effects. Caution: May be habit forming. This is a controlled substance (depressant) listed in the US. Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21 Part 1308.14. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of Cl-, Fand NOx. Waste DisposalIt is inappropriate and possi bly dangerous to the environment to dispose of expired or waste drugs and pharmaceuticals by flushing them down the toilet or discarding them to the trash.
