甘精胰岛素是一种胰岛素类似物，其在胰岛素的双链上分别取代了一个甘氨酸，增加了两个精氨酸，因此，被称之为甘精胰岛素，这几个基团的增加，使这个药物的溶液在酸性的条件下澄清，而当皮下注射入人体时，人体的偏中性环境导致甘精胰岛素形成细小的沉淀，从而使药物缓慢释放，类似于人体的胰岛素生理分泌，能够平稳有效的起到24小时控糖的作用。甘精胰岛素是较新型的长效胰岛素类似物，又被称作基础胰岛素，每天固定时间注射一次，对于控制空腹血糖和餐后血糖，都有平稳的控糖作用。Insulin (human) (Insulin regular) 是一种调节葡萄糖水平的多肽激素。Insulin 通常用于治疗糖尿病患者的高血糖症。效价(potency)：29 units/mg。
