| CREATINE AMIDINOHYDROLASE Chemical Properties |
| CREATINE AMIDINOHYDROLASE Usage And Synthesis |
Uses | Creatine amidinohydrolase is a clinically important enzyme used in the determination of creatinine in blood and urine. | General Description | Creatinase is a homodimer that catalyzes hydrolysis of creatine. It consists of two monomer subunit and two defined domains; N and C terminal domains. C terminal fold have both the α helices and anti-parallel β sheet within two structurally similar domains. In between these two domains, there is a sulfhydryl group that acts as active site and the activity is metal independent. | Biochem/physiol Actions | Creatinase is a homodimer with subunit molecular weights of approximately 45 kDa. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of creatine, in the presence of H2O, to form urea and sarcosine. |
