Ferrocene

In the normal temperature, Ferrocene is yellow needle crystal powder, with a similar smell of camphor,belongs to non polar compounds,soluble in methanol,ethanol,ethyl ether, petroleum ether, gasoline, kerosene, diesel oil, dichloromethane ,benzene, toluene and xylene and other organic solvents, because ethanol polarity is relatively large, usually best to use the toluene dissolved. Insoluble in water, soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid, does not dissolve in the boiling of caustic soda solution and hydrochloric acid, also does not decompose in the boiling of caustic soda solution and hydrochloric acid.

Application

(1) As a energy-saving smoke- eliminating addition in fuel , antiknock agent. As for the production of gasoline antiknock agent, rocket propellant burning rate catalyst, space for solid fuels etc..

(2) Used as catalyst. As for the production of synthetic ammonia as catalyst, curing agent, silicone rubber, Can prevent the degradation of polyethylene on the role of light, can be used for plastic film, so that the degradation of natural fracture in a certain period of time, does not affect the cultivation and fertilization.

(3) Used as a gasoline antiknock agent. Can replace gasoline as toxic tetraethyl lead antiknock agent, made of high-grade unleaded gasoline, to eliminate fuel discharge on environmental pollution and harm to the human body.

(4) Used as a radiation absorber, heat stabilizer, light stabilizer and flame retardant.
