Product Description

Calcium stearate is fine white in appearance, fluffy powder, smooth in hand, soluble in toluene, ethanol, and other organic solvents. Non-toxic slowly decomposes into stearic acid and corresponding calcium salt when heated to 400°C. 

Function & Application

1. Used as a non-toxic heat stabilizer for PVC, and has excellent lubricity. It is commonly used for non-toxic soft products such as food packaging films and medical appliances. This product is used in polyethylene and polypropylene to eliminate the adverse effects of residual catalyst on the color and stability of the resin. This product is also widely used as a lubricant and release agent for thermosetting plastics such as polyolefins, polyester reinforced plastics, phenolic resins, and amino resins.
2. Used as a lubricating and jam release agent in oil field operations. It is also used as a heat stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride, a lubricant for a variety of plastic processing, and a release agent. In hard products, mixing with basic lead salt and lead soap can increase the gelation speed. It is also used for non-toxic soft films and appliances such as food packaging and medical appliances.
3. Calcium stearate is a good non-toxic heat stabilizer and lubricant. It is also a smoothing agent and water-resistant agent for adhesives and coatings. It is widely used in chemical production processes such as plastics and rubber. The thermal stability is not as good as barium stearate, lead stearate, tin stearate, and cadmium stearate.
4. Used in fragrance powder in cosmetics. When added to the fragrance powder, it has strong adhesion to the powder, good lubricity, uniform spreading, and good shareability of the fragrance powder.
