| In vitro | Ceftobiprole (Ro 63-9141) has demonstrated activity against clinically important Gram-positive bacteria, including penicillin-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae (PRSP), methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and Enterobacter faecalis with MIC90 values of 0.25, 2, and 2 mcg/mL, respectively; ceftobiprole has also shown in vitro activity against several clinical isolates of community-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA), vancomycin-intermediate Staphylococcus aureus (VISA), and vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA) with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 2 mcg/mL. |
