Cyclohexanone, an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H10O, is a saturated cyclic ketone whose carbonyl carbon atom is contained in a six membered ring. Colorless and transparent liquid with earthy smell. When it contains traces of phenol, it has Mint smell. The impure substance is light yellow, which will be colored by impurities generated during storage time. It is water white to grayish yellow and has a strong pungent odor.
