Usage:For organic synthesis. Condensation with 2, 4-dichloro-5-sulfamyl benzoic acid produces the powerful diuretic drug furosemide. Furosemide has a strong and fast diuretic effect and is an essential drug for the treatment of subsevere edema. Furosemide is also used as an anti-corrosive agent.
