Polymyxin B is an antibiotic.It can inhibit a variety of negative bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella and Haemophilus. It is also sensitive to other antibiotic resistant strains.However, due to its serious nephrotoxicity and nerve block effect, it is only used for short-term rescue of burns complicated with sepsis, or for topical spray rinsing.This medicine should not be injected intravenously to avoid respiratory failure.The drug can be combined with normal saline solution for external use.
