Ipecac-induced vomiting is not recommended because of the potential for cns depression and seizures. Consider after ingestion of a potentially life-threatening amount of poison if it can be performed soon after ingestion (generally within 1 hour). Activated charcoal: administer charcoal as a slurry (240 ml water/30 g charcoal). Usual dose: 25 to 100 g in adults/adolescents. Intravenous fluids may be useful in restoring extracellular fluid volume following severe vomiting and diarrhea. | 【Inhalation】
Move victim to fresh air. Apply artificial respiration if victim is not breathing. Do not use mouth-to-mouth method if victim ingested or inhaled the substance; induce artificial respiration with the aid of a pocket mask equipped with a one-way valve or other proper respiratory medical device. Exposure to thiram or mbdt-carb (based on animal studies) may cause weakness, ataxia, ascending paralysis and hypothermia. Peripheral neuropathy (pain, numbness and weakness of the extremities) has been noted following exposure to thiuram (the ethyl analog of thiram). No adverse reproductive effects (testicular parameters) in male mice were observed following methyl thiophanate doses up to 1000 mg/kg orally for 5 consecutive days (Traina et al, 1998).
