Fire Fighting MeasuresBack to Contents
【Flash Point】

【Fire Fighting】

Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. Water runoff can cause environmental damage. Dike and collect water used to fight fire. During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion. Will burn if involved in a fire. This material in sufficient quantity and reduced particle size is capable of creating a dust explosion. To extinguish fire use water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide, or chemical foam. Use agent most appropriate to extinguish fire.
【Fire Potential】

May burn but does not ignite readily.
Accidental Release MeasuresBack to Contents
【Small spills/leaks】

Vacuum or sweep up material and place into a suitable disposal container. Clean up spills immediately, using the appropriate protective equipment. Avoid generating dusty conditions. Provide ventilation.
Stability and ReactivityBack to Contents
【Stability】

Stable at room temperature in closed containers under normal storage and handling conditions. Deliquescent; tends to lose ammonia.
【Incompatibilities】

Strong oxidizing agents, strong acids, moisture.
【Decomposition】

Nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, irritating and toxic fumes and gases, carbon dioxide, ammonia.
【Combustion Products】

Irritating vapors of ammonia acetic acid, and nitrogen oxides may form in fires.
