BIMAX2 is a high affinity nuclear localization signal (NLS) peptide, consisting of 26 amino acids. BIMAX2 can simulate the activity of classical nuclear localization signal (cNLS) and competitively bind to nuclear import protein alpha (importin alpha), thereby inhibiting the binding of cNLS cargo protein to importin alpha. BIMAX2 can be used to investigate the role of RBBP4 in regulating nuclear input efficiency and cellular aging.
