24.1 24.1 Preparation of 1-(5-amino-2-bromo-phenyl)ethanone
A solution of 1-(3-aminophenyl)ethanone (10.0 g, 74.0 mmol, 1 eq) in DMF (70 mL) was dropwise a solution of NBS (13.2 g, 74.0 mmol, 1 eq) in DMF (70 mL) at 25°C over a period of 1 h, the resulting mixture was stirred at 25°C for 1 h. The reaction mixture was poured into H2O (100 mL), and the aqueous phase was extracted with EtOAc (40 mL x 3). The combined organic layers were washed with sat. aq. NaHCO3 (20 mL x 3), H2O (15 mL x 3) and brine (10 mL x 3), dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated in vacuo to give 1-(5-amino-2-bromo- phenyl)ethanone (15.0 g, 70.1 mmol, 94.71% yield) was as brown oil.1H NMR (CDCl3, 400 MHz) d 7.34 (d, J = 8.4 Hz, 1H), 6.75 (d, J = 2.8 Hz, 1H), 6.62 (dd, J = 8.8, 2.8 Hz, 1H), 3.82 (br s, 2H).
