Steps:

A Synthesis of 1-(difluoromethyl)-1H-indazol-5-amine I-158

Iron powder [7439-89-6] (513.4 mg, 9.19 mmol) was added to a mixture of 2-methyl-5- nitro-2H-indazole [5228-48-8] (228.5 mg, 1.29 mmol), ammonium chloride [12125-02- 25 9] (209.5 mg, 3.92 mmol) in a mixture of EtOH (11 mL) and DI water (11 mL) in a MW vial. The vial was sealed and the reaction mixture was stirred vigorously and heated at 100 °C for 1 hour. The crude mixture was filtered over Celite and the cake was washed with JAB7061WOPCT1 - 57 - and the cake was washed with EtOAc (~20 mL). The filtrate was washed with water (~10 mL), dried over MgSO4 and concentrated under reduced pressure at 50 °C to afford I-158 (193 mg, 97%) as a brown oil which was used in the next step without further purification
