Steps:

General Method for Synthesis of Compounds 2a-2f

General procedure: A suspension of compounds 1a-1d (1.0 mmol), dry potassiumcarbonate (0.165 g, 1.2 mmol) in DMF (8.0 mL),was added a solution of R2Cl or R2I (1.2 mmol) in DMF (2.0mL). The resulting mixture was stirred for 1~5 h at roomtemperature. Then, the reaction mixture was poured into 5 %aqueous HCl, and extracted with CH2Cl2 (3 x 10 mL). Thecombined organic layers were washed with saturated sodiumhydrogen carbonate (1 x 20 mL) and brine (3 x 20 mL), dried over Na2SO4, filtered, and concentrated in vacuo. Theresidue was purified by flash column chromatography (ethylacetate-petroleum ether = 2:1) to give the title compounds2a-2f.
