Steps:

2.2.1. Synthesis of 2,7-dibromobenzo[1,2-b:6,5-b’]dithiophene-4,5-dione(1)

BDTD (2.2 g, 10.0 mmol), NBS (3.74 g, 21.0 mmol), and DMF (100mL) were mixed in a 250 mL round-bottom flask, heated to 65-70 C,and stirred for 24 h. After the reaction was completed, the solution waspoured into cold water, and a large amount of purple-black solidprecipitated immediately. The resulting solid was filtered with a Buchnerfunnel, washed with hot water and dried. The sample was recrystallizedfrom acetonitrile, collected by filtration, washed withacetonitrile, and dried under vacuum to obtain a dark purple solid 1(3.47 g, 92%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) 7.46 (s, 2H). The spectroscopicdescription is in accordance with the published data [36].
