Synthesis of 2-bromo-1-(2,4,6-trifluorophenyl)ethan-1-one
To 100 ml of a dichloromethane solution containing 5.50 g of 1,3,5-trifluorobenzene and 11.1 g of aluminum chloride was added dropwise 4.33 ml of bromoacetyl bromide at 0° C., and the reaction mixture was stirred under reflux by heating for 15 hours.
After cooling the mixture to room temperature, an aqueous saturated sodium hydrogen carbonate solution and dichloromethane were added thereto and the mixture was filtered through Celite.
After separating the liquids to the organic layer and the aqueous layer, the obtained organic layer was washed with saturated brine, and dried over sodium sulfate.
After the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure, the obtained residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography.
The title compound was obtained as 4.26 g of an oily product.
1H-NMR (CDCl3) δ: 6.79-6.76 (2H, m), 4.33-4.33 (2H, m).
